Rotarians host family fun at Rulfs’ Corn Maze

Must read

PERU — Plattsburgh’s Sunrise and Noon Rotary Clubs are hosting an afternoon of family fun and community fellowship from noon to 3 p.m on Oct. 18 at the Rulfs Orchard’s Corn Maze in Peru.

Tickets are $8 for adults (13+), $6 for children ages 4-12, and free for children ages 3 and under. Proceeds benefit Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign to eradicate polio worldwide.

Families can also visit Rulfs Farmers Market & Bakery before and after their corn maze adventures. The market features a specialty retail shop with a variety of seasonal foods and gifts in addition to baked goods, fresh produce and fruits, and of course apples.

Rulfs Orchard is certainly known locally for their apples, and it is no surprise that Rulfs was just recently named one of the top 15 apple orchards in all of New York State.

End Polio Now

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease.

Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.
