Replica firearms found on Red Bluff suspect

A man hiding from Red Bluff police on April 16 during a reported domestic incident was found to be in possession of two replica firearms and a stun device, said the Red Bluff Police Department.

Police were called out to the 500 block of Madison Street in Red Bluff around 9:28 p.m., by a woman stating her ex-boyfriend, Zackery Norbury, 38, was outside her trailer and refused to leave the property, reported the RBPD.

Officers learned Norbury was wanted on outstanding felony warrants for suspicion of criminal threats, hit and run, failure to appear on felony charges and violation of post release community supervision. He reportedly had a “long history of resisting arrest with violence,” as well, police said.

With assistance from a RBPD canine unit, police attempted to locate Norbury, which they did when police canine, Max, alerted to where the suspect was hiding, RBPD said.

Norbury reportedly refused to comply with officers when they told him to surrender and allegedly was making a furtive movement towards his waistband when Max was successfully deployed and apprehended the suspect, deterring further confrontation with police.

Norbury was placed in handcuffs after a short struggle and placed under arrest, police said.

It was during a search of his person, that police report finding the stun device and replica firearms.

After being medically cleared due to the encounter with Max, Norbury was booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of resisting arrest, felon in possession of a stun gun with prior felony convictions, and his outstanding felony warrants. He is being held without bail.
