Three people have been injured in Leeds and a man seen with weapons has been detained, police have said.
Officers were called to Otley Road in the Headingley area at 2.47pm on Saturday and found three people with injuries that are not being treated as life-threatening. The nature of their injuries has not been disclosed.
West Yorkshire police said a male suspect had been detained, adding: “Inquiries are in their initial stages to determine the wider circumstances of what has taken place and further updates will follow.
“A number of police scenes remain in place and ensuring public safety remains our priority.”
It comes after a threat was made on social media targeting the Otley area.
Bethany Connelly, who works in the area, told Yorkshire Live: “I was at work at a nearby restaurant and some girls were sitting outside.
“They asked if they could come in and finish what they were having because they’d seen someone with a crossbow. This was all before the incident, and a few minutes later, we saw ambulances and police rushing down the roads.
“The roads were getting blocked off, and we’d been told by police to keep everyone indoors and away from the area.”
Part of Otley Road has been closed off by police.
