Apr. 29—Priceville police made multiple arrests over the last three days on drug trafficking and narcotics charges and also captured people with active warrants in other jurisdictions, all following traffic stops on southbound Interstate 65.
On Saturday at 11 p.m., police said they conducted a traffic stop on I-65 and identified the driver as 31-year-old Terry James Tolliver III of Tampa. They determined Tolliver had several active nationwide felony extradition arrest warrants for grand theft with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office in Tallahassee, Florida. He also had felony court violations from a case in Michigan, according to police.
Tolliver is being held in the Morgan County Jail without bail pending extradition, according to jail records.
On Sunday at about 2 a.m., police said they conducted another traffic stop on I-65 and initiated a narcotics field investigation. Authorities found fentanyl pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, firearms and bundles of U.S. currency inside the vehicle, police alleged, all of which were consistent with the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.
Police said Sylacauga residents Courtenay Levon Borden, 26, Antwane Markeith Cook, 27, and Lanoah Ealy Jr., 27, were arrested and transported to Morgan County Jail.
All three were charged with unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ealy was also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and second-degree promoting prison contraband, according to police. They said he is being held in lieu of $145,000 bail.
Police said Borden was given a $60,000 bond with an extradition warrant hold for the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office due to noncompliance with probation.
Cook is being held on a $60,000 bond, police said.
Early Monday morning at about 3:45 a.m., Priceville police said they conducted yet another traffic stop on I-65. Police said Cuba, Alabama, resident Anthony Travell Hill, 25, attempted to flee from officers, accelerating his vehicle to speeds exceeding 100 mph.
Hill eventually surrendered and stopped his vehicle on I-65, according to police. After making contact, police discovered that Hill had an active extradition arrest warrant for felony eluding law enforcement with a sheriff’s office in Mississippi. Police said they also found opiates in liquid form, a short-barreled rifle and U.S. currency in his vehicle.
Hill was charged with trafficking dangerous drugs (opium or derivative), unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle, and felony fleeing or attempting to elude, according to police.
Police said Hill’s bond was set at $400,000, and a fugitive from justice hold was placed for authorities in Mississippi.
