Apr. 5—ISLETON — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said the same person might be responsible for two sexual assaults that occurred on the same night in Isleton last month.

The attacks happened between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on March 20. The first happened on Delta Avenue and the second just down the street near Jackson Boulevard, according to reports.

Investigators said a woman was walking alone on Delta Avenue when a masked man approached her from behind, shoved her to the ground and assaulted her.

A similar attack happened to another woman walking alone along Jackson Boulevard.

“We aren’t going on those walks anymore,” Isleton resident Maryalice Tillisch told CBS13. “We don’t feel safe.”

Both victims are well-known in the community and have been living in Isleton for over two decades, Tillisch said, adding one of the victims has not left her house since the attack.

“They heard the running footsteps before they turned around and were attacked,” Tillisch said. “They were pushed down onto the ground and that attacker attempted to remove articles of clothing.”

Tillisch said she and others in the community are now taking extra precautions to prevent the predator from striking again.

She organized a community meeting Thursday to discuss creating a neighborhood watch group and assign captains to each neighborhood in Isleton. The next step will be working with the Sheriff’s Office and get signs posted around the community.

“There might be other victims that are out there in that same situation,” Sgt. Amar Gandhi told the outlet.
