NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The State of New Mexico is working to boost the skilled trades workforce in New Mexico. Thursday morning, the Department of Workforce Solutions announced seven new contracts that will establish pre-apprenticeship programs that focus on high-demand careers, including clean energy, construction, and broadband.

Santa Fe Community College is implementing two new apprenticeship programs and is excited about what it could mean for students. “These programs provide accelerated career-aligned training that prepares students for in-demand, well-paying jobs,” said Becky Rowley, President of Santa Fe Community College.
New Mexico Workforce Solutions started these programs years ago and is excited to see them expanding.
