A facility closure filing has revealed how many jobs Louisville will lose due when KFC relocates its headquarters to Plano, Texas.
The WARN Notice, a federally required notice from employers prior to a mass layoff or facility closure that will impact at least 50 employees, shows that 91 Louisville-based KFC corporate employees will be impacted.
In the notice letter from KFC ,which went out in late May, Heather McCoy, chief people office for KFC U.S., wrote the headquarters at 1900 Colonel Sanders Lane will shutter before the end of the year.

All 91 employees impacted by the closure will be offered the ability to relocate to Plano. For those choosing to not relocate, their employment will end on or within 14 days of Sept. 30.
The February relocation announcement to Texas cost Yum Brands, “approximately $7 million,” The Courier Journal previously reported.
“While KFC U.S. will permanently shut down its Louisville HQ operations, its parent company, Yum Brands Inc. will continue to maintain its offices in Louisville at the adjacent campus,” McCoy wrote.
