The world is a little more colorful this month and it’s not just the warmer weather. June is Pride Month in the United States.
Across the nation, people will be attending Pride Month events to celebrate, “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) history, culture and resilience,” according to this USA TODAY article.
Brockton celebrated the beginning of Pride Month in the city with Mayor Robert Sullivan raising the pride flag at a ceremony at City Hall on Monday, June 2. It’s just the beginning of the month and there are still lots of Pride events people can attend in the Brockton area.
Bookworm at Stoughton Pride Event
This weekend, on Saturday, June 8, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Bookworm, a pop-up mobile book store based in Quincy, will host a Pride Month event at First Parish Church in Stoughton. This is a free, family-friendly event. People can enjoy live music, food trucks, drag performances, children’s storytime, yard games, a raffle and more. Parking is free.

Stoughton Pride Queer-aoke
This event does karaoke with a twist. It is being hosted by Rainbow Knights on Saturday, June 7, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Toffee Social Bar & Lounge in Stoughton. According to the event’s website, the Rainbow Knights are “a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect, nurture and support all LGBTQIA+ people in the Stoughton, Massachusetts area.” The event is free with a suggested donation of $10 at the door. An age limit is not listed on the event’s website.

Randolph Pride Fest Events
On Friday, June 27, Randolph Pride will kick off with Randolph Bravespace, a coffeehouse. People can share art, poetry, music and more. The event will take place at First Congressional Church, UCC in Randolph, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sign-up begins at 6:30 p.m.

Where: 1 South St. in Randolph
On Saturday, June 28, from noon to 4 p.m. Randolph Pride Fest will take place. There will be food trucks, vendors, entertainment, a bounce house, children’s activities, music, fun and fellowship. Entertainment includes Flamy Grant, a singer, songwriter, storyteller and drag queen. According to the festival’s website, “Grant is the first drag queen to reach #1 on the Christian music charts.” The event will take place in a parking lot behind the Turner Free Library in Randolph.

On Sunday, June 29, Randolph Pride Fest concludes with Pride Month Worship at 10 a.m. at the upper level, First Congressional Church. The website said, “No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey…you are welcome here! No, really…You are welcome.” People also have the option to attend the event on Facebook or YouTube.

South Coast Pride Festivals
Celebrate Pride on the South Coast in both New Bedford and Taunton. On two separate days, South Coast Pride will host celebrations with live music, dancing, food trucks, drag performances, games, local crafts and community resources. New Bedford Pride Fest will take place June 7 from noon to 5 p.m. Taunton Pride Fest will take place June 14 from noon to 5 p.m.

Those 21 and over can party all night after the festivals at the New Bedford Pride Bloc Afterparty at The Gallery Bar at 5 p.m., located at 20 Kenyon St. The cover fee is $10, cash only. Taunton Pride will also have an Afterparty at Bobby’s Place at 6 p.m., located at 60 Weir St. The afterparty will be luau-themed. There is also a $10 cover fee.

Plymouth Pride Festival
Plymouth’s Pride Festival is returning to Nelson Park with live entertainment, drag performances, a beer garden, nearly 90 craft and retail vendors, food trucks, a pet contest and more. The park has a large grassy area for watching performances, as well as direct beach access and a playground for kids. This event is free to attend.
When: Sunday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
