HOWELL — The shooting death of a local man found in a vehicle on White Street is under investigation, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago on Friday evening.
Rolando Acte Mejia, 36, of Howell, was identified as the victim.
Howell Police responded to the scene at 6:41 a.m. Thursday. Officers discovered Mejia, deceased within a vehicle, Santiago said.
The incident triggered a major SWAT operation in Howell on Thursday morning.

A criminal investigation led by the Major Crimes Bureau of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Howell Police Department is underway.
