Jun. 10—The 68-year-old Wyoming man accused of stabbing the manager of Motel 6 in Clarkston will be in Asotin County to face his charge next week.
Thomas R. Krogman has waived extradition, meaning he agrees to being transported to the county where the alleged crime took place. He is facing a first-degree attempted murder charge in Asotin County Superior Court for allegedly stabbing Daniel Henry, 72, eight times at a Clarkston motel.
According to court documents, the altercation may be linked to previous family abuse. The victim told police he didn’t recognize Krogman at first, but when his license plate generated a name and address, he realized it was his brother in law.
A day before the knife attack, Henry said his sister called and brought up an alleged family abuse matter that happened about 60 years ago. Henry reportedly told police he had made amends and believed the issue had been resolved long ago.

A day or two later, Krogman allegedly walked into the motel’s front office and confronted the manager before stabbing him in the face and body. Krogman didn’t bring up the past, but did ask Henry if he recognized him.
Krogman was arrested a week ago in Wyoming. Once he arrives in Asotin County, he will have the opportunity to enter a plea and tell his side of the story, officials said. He has retained an attorney.
First-degree attempted murder is a Class A felony, the most severe level on the books.
