Jun. 12—A Morgan County jury on Thursday morning found Brian Mann guilty of the attempted murder of his wife, Hannah Mann.
After two days of testimony, the jury deliberated about two hours Wednesday night and concluded deliberations Thursday morning.
Testimony in the case indicated the defendant poisoned his wife with lead, possibly contained in vitamin supplements he gave her. Testimony also indicated Brian Mann, 36, secured numerous life insurance policies payable upon his wife’s death.
Mann, a Hartselle resident who previously had a chiropractic office in Decatur, was out on bond before the trial. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail after the verdict was announced.
The sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 27. Chief Assistant District Attorney Garrick Vickery said after the verdict was announced that he will seek a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.
