A 46-year-old man has been charged with killing his relative in the Millsboro area, Delaware State Police said.
When officers conducted a welfare check on a 75-year-old woman, police said they found her body in the home.
Daniel Steele, was also in the home and has been charged with first-degree murder of the woman whose name police have not released.

What happened
A preliminary investigation found that Steele was involved in a physical fight with the woman. During the fight, police said he assaulted her until she lost consciousness.
No attempt was made to seek medical help following the fight, police said.
A concerned family member called police about 6 p.m. on June 15 to report they had not been able to get in touch with the woman for days.
Officers went to the home, located in the 22000 block of Phillips Hill Road, and found the woman unresponsive on a couch, police said. Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene and they confirmed the woman was dead.
Steele, who was also inside the home, was taken into custody without incident, police said.
After Justice of the Peace Court 7 arraigned Steele, police said he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution after failing to post $1,000,000 cash bail.
