LAFAYETTE, Ind. — High school juniors and seniors across Greater Lafayette’s nine-county region are invited to the annual HireME! job fair on April 16.

Located at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds, students will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with hiring managers from nearly 60 local companies, according to a news release, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event, hosted by Greater Lafayette Commerce in partnership with Career+ Pathways by Skyepack, digital learning solutions provider, is designed to give students a direct line to internships and full-time employment in some of the region’s most in-demand and high-wage industries.

Kara Webb, workforce development director at Greater Lafayette Commerce, said in the release the HireME! event exemplifies the partnership between regional employers and area schools to open doors to stable, fulfilling careers.

“Collaboration between education and industry runs deep in Greater Lafayette, and it’s something we take great pride in,” Webb said in the release. “Through Career+ and HireME! we’re not just preparing students for the future — we’re connecting them directly to it.”

All potential career opportunities presented at HireME! are locally available, in demand and high-wage positions, the release said, with some including the added benefit of debt-free college options.

The 2024 HireME! fair saw more than 330 high school students from across the region, the release said, with expected growth in both student interest and employer participation for the 2025 fair. A total of 57 companies will be present, including employers such as Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc., Caterpillar, Indiana University Health Arnett, Purdue Federal Credit Union, Chuy’s Tex-Mex, Evonik and the Tippecanoe Building and Construction Trades Council.

The Air National Guard, Air Force, Ivy Tech Community College and Indiana Wesleyan University will also be at the fair, the release said.

“HireME! is a powerful step forward for our region — empowering students to showcase their skills, tell their story and take control of their career journey,” Skyepack CEO Eric Davis said in the release. “It’s more than a career fair; it’s a launchpad for opportunity.”

This event is open to high school students only, the release said, and is open to students from any high school in the area. Students may register for the HireME! fair at greaterlafayettecommerce.com under the events tab.
