Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel joined with 50 other attorneys general Wednesday to notify nine phone service providers that they may be violating state and federal laws by routing allegedly unlawful robocalls across their networks.
The warning notices were sent to Global Net Holdings, All Access Telecom, Lingo Telecom, NGL Communications, Range, RSCom Ltd., Telcast Network, ThinQ Technologies and Telcentris by attorneys general who are part of the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force.
“Voice service providers play a critical role in keeping illegal robocalls off their networks, and that includes ensuring they do not transmit these persistent and intrusive calls,” Nessel said. “I remain committed to working with my colleagues on this task force to protect consumers and hold accountable those providers who choose to turn a blind eye to illegal traffic.”
The task force was started in 2022 and is led by North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita and Ohio Attorney General David Yost.
They previously sent eight warning letters in 2023 and six warning letters in 2024.
In addition to the warnings, the task force also shared its concerns with federal law enforcement, including the Federal Communications Commission.
