A former Bristol Township motel employee has admitted he attempted to set fire to his former boss before he took a homemade flamethrower to the man’s car earlier this year
In a court appearance on Tuesday, Glenn King, 60, entered guilty pleas to felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief before Bucks County Common Pleas Judge Wallace Bateman Jr., who will sentence him in June.

King faces a potential maximum sentence of up to 22 years in prison. He remains incarcerated in lieu of $125,000 bail.
Bristol Township police allege King, a former maintenance worker at the Village Lodge on Bristol Pike, allegedly showed up at the business on Jan. 17 and doused a Lexus in the parking lot with kerosene.
When the car owner, King’s former boss, saw what was happening he approached King, who allegedly sprayed the victim with kerosene and attempted to set him on fire, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The man ran toward the motel office with King following him and threatening to kill him and “burn this place down,” the affidavit said.
The victim reached the office and shut the door moments before King reached it and allegedly started spraying the door with kerosene.
Meanwhile, another motel employee outside started talking to King, which got him to move away from the building and back toward the victim’s car, authorities said.
King then allegedly picked up an aerosol can of accelerant from his car, walked back to the Lexus and used the blowtorch and the spray to create a flamethrower, which ignited the Lexus.
King then fled the scene in his car, authorities said.
