SHELBY — Sacred Heart School will host its 132nd annual festival on July 27. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the parish grounds at 5742 Ohio 61 south between Crestline and Shelby, according to an announcement.
The festival features a variety of activities for families. A highlight is the half-chicken or ham dinners, which include homemade dressing and desserts. The meal also comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, a roll with butter, pickled eggs and a choice of applesauce or coleslaw. Coffee, iced tea or lemonade is included in the $14 adult meal. A smaller meal of a quarter-chicken with all the trimmings is available for $12.
A popular attraction every year at the Sacred Heart Festival is the display antique farm machinery and other vehicles.
An air-conditioned dining hall will be open for those seeking relief from the summer heat. Additional food options will be available through a grill service and concessions throughout the day.
Families can enjoy the kids’ tent, open until 6 p.m. It will feature games suitable for children of all ages. Older kids can try out putt-putt golf, while younger children can enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride and live animal attractions. The Farmers Market Booth will offer garden produce and home-baked treats. Antique farm machinery will be on display and adults can play instant bingo and other games of chance.

The festival will also host a mega-raffle with various prizes, including a hot air balloon ride, $500 off Sacred Heart tuition, freezer meat, an original painting, a gas grill, a family fun pack to a local haunted maze, a basket of Sacred Heart-themed items, a bicycle and an Apple watch. There will be hourly drawings, 50/50 drawings and a reverse raffle with a $1,500 top prize.
The Bavarian Village with live music will be open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Shaded seating will be available and parking is free.
