No foul play is suspected in the death of a man whose body lay undiscovered in the basement of a home for about a month before it was found on April 9.
Athens-Clarke County Coroner Mike Eberhart said Tuesday that autopsy results from the State Crime Lab show that Frank Perry Williams died of an overdose of cocaine and alcohol.
Williams, 44, who grew up in Lithonia, was living with a girlfriend on Lavender Road. She told police they had a domestic argument about a month earlier and she thought he had left her.
She explained she was placing a bicycle in the basement when she found his body on the floor. The woman said she had noticed a bad smell in the house previously.
Relatives told the Athens Banner-Herald that Williams had health problems with back and sciatic nerve ailments that caused him a lot of physical pain.
