Ford is recalling more than 200,000 vehicles due the possibility the rearview camera in some models may fail, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced.
The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker reported to the NHTSA in late June that the camera image on certain vehicles may not display, which can increase the risk of a crash, according to a recall posted by the federal safety regulator.
A camera that displays a blank image decreases the driver’s view behind a vehicle, the NHTSA said. An image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the person driving.
