Ice Cream Alley is back just in time to cool down summer Sundays

Must read

As Southern California braces for another round of heatwaves, one of Los Angeles’ most beloved summer traditions is returning just in time. Smorgasburg LA’s Ice Cream Alley is back, offering Angelenos a much-needed sweet escape every Sunday through the end of August.

The annual event runs weekly from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at ROW DTLA, starting Sunday, July 6 and continuing through August 31. Admission is free, and visitors can take advantage of two hours of complimentary parking.

This seasonal favorite transforms a section of Smorgasburg’s open-air market into a dedicated zone for frozen desserts, featuring a rotating lineup of pop-ups, small-batch artisans, and returning culinary favorites from across Los Angeles.

Among the featured vendors are:

Smorgasburg LA residents will also be on hand to serve signature treats:

  • SadGirlCreamery, a woman-owned business celebrated for its Latin-inspired ice cream tacos and inventive small-batch flavors.

  • MOOM MAAM, a standout from last year’s Ice Cream Alley, returns with its Thai-inspired gelato creations.

  • Bernie’s, offering fruit-based shaved granita ice topped with house-made toasted marshmallow.

And while Ice Cream Alley is the main draw, Smorgasburg’s full slate of food, drink, and retail vendors will continue to operate as usual.

According to an Instagram post from organizers, Ice Cream Alley – Where Every Sunday is Sundae Funday! is back to “keep you extra cool” as temperatures soar.

Smorgasburg LA, modeled after the original Brooklyn food market, has become a Sunday staple for many in Los Angeles since its launch in 2016. Located in the ROW DTLA development, the event offers open-air dining, small business shopping, and a showcase of the region’s culinary diversity.

For locals and tourists alike, Ice Cream Alley promises a chance to beat the heat with creativity, community, and plenty of sprinkles.
