Paramus police arrested a Philadelphia man on July 5 who was on the run after shooting a school resource officer last week in Philadelphia, authorities announced.
Paramus Chief Robert M. Guidetti said in a release on July 7 that Philadelphia PD had alerted his department that Ariza Giansteban, 29, was possibly heading to the New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus.
Working with the medical center’s security, Paramus Sergeant Anthony Mordaga, Officer Vinny LaBarbiera and Bergen County Sheriff’s Officer Patrick Doyle located and were able to take Giansteban into custody without incident, the chief said.
He was taken to Bergen County Jail, where he is awaiting extradition to Philadelphia.
Giansteban allegedly shot a 68-year-old man during a road rage incident on June 30.
