There is still a possibility the invest could strengthen into a tropical depression.
“If this system moves far enough offshore, environmental conditions over the Gulf appear generally favorablefor additional development, and a tropical depression could still form over the next couple of days before the system moves fully inland by the end of the week,” the National Hurricane Center said.
The next named storm of the season will be Dexter.

The associated shower and thunderstorm activity is disorganized and located mainly south and southwest ofthe center. Tallahassee, central Panhandle: Localized pockets of heavy rain are possible in our area today along with an increasing risk of rip currents along the coast on Thursday.
Jacksonville, North/Northeast Florida: High moisture near and west of the I-75 corridor will bring a localized flood risk through Thursday.
Daytona Beach to Stuart, East/Central Florida: An area of low pressure over the Florida Panhandle continues to move west, away from the area. A gradual return to a typical summertime pattern, though precipitation chances will remain elevated at 50 percent to 70 percent.
West Palm Beach to Naples, South/Southwest Florida: No significant impacts are expected across South Florida but expect rounds of showers and thunderstorms with a potential for heavy rainfall will continue through today.
Fort Myers to Sarasota, West/Southwest Florida: Weak low pressure over the Florida Panhandle early this morning will continue to move west with tropical moisture remaining across the area.
