OXFORD – Posting a video online after being told by the court not to has landed an Oxford woman in jail on felony charges.
A woman contacted the Oxford Police Department June 25 about an ongoing issue between her adult child and Aaliyah Brown, 27, of Oxford. As condition of a previous conviction, Brown was instructed to never post a particular video of an altercation again. Brown did not comply with that court order and posted the video.
The victim returned to Oxford to pursue charges against Brown, pressing charges for the posting of messages through electronic media for purposes of causing injury to any person.
Brown was taken into custody during a July 11 traffic stop. She has since bonded out of the Lafayette County Detention Center.
