The Electric Boat Employees’ Community Services Association partnered again this year with Thames Valley Council for Community Action to support people in need in the region, with a $9,000 award for Home Again, which diverts at-risk households from entry into the shelter system, and a $7,000 grant to TVCCA’s Senior Nutrition/Meals on Wheels program to help defray costs of meal delivery as well as food service at congregate meal sites at area Senior Centers.
The Home Again program does more than resolve a person’s immediate housing crisis, notes Ida Parker, TVCCA’s director of housing. “We’re able to keep families safely housed by covering emergency rent, security deposits, utility bills, and even moving expenses. And our case managers work with each household to address issues that may be contributing to housing insecurity, helping them move toward long-term stability.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Electric Boat Employees’ Community Services Association,” said Eugene Theroux, TVCCA’s director of senior nutrition. “They are a consistent and dedicated partner in helping TVCCA support our most vulnerable community members. Their ongoing support means we can reach more seniors more consistently, and provide not just food — but care, connection, and peace of mind.”
