The Indiana State Police are investigating a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in southeastern Carroll County.
Indiana State Police and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal crash on State Road 75 near County Road 485 South just after 6 p.m. Thursday.
A preliminary investigation by state police revealed that a motorcycle was traveling northbound on State Road 75 just north of County Road 485 South. At that time, a 2017 GMC Sierra was traveling southbound in the same area. For an unknown reason, the motorcycle crossed the center line and struck the GMC head-on.
Despite life-saving efforts, the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner. The identity will be released by the coroner at a later time.
The driver of the GMC was uninjured in the crash.
State police was assisted at the scene by other troopers from the Lafayette Post, the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Carroll County EMS, area fire departments, and other first responders.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation by the Indiana State Police Peru Post Crash Reconstruction Team.
