SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Police are investigating a fatal shooting on the city’s southeast side over the weekend.
Officers were called to a residence in the 1900 block of Holly Drive at approximately 3:30 a.m. on July 19.
There, they found a woman who had been shot.

She was taken to HSHS St. John’s Hospital for treatment, but she did not survive.
Holly Drive is between Laurel and Ash streets, just off Taylor Avenue.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon said an autopsy has been scheduled.
