Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and Akron police officers apprehended a 33-year-old fugitive April 28 after a brief SWAT standoff, according to the Akron Police Department.
Michael Anthony Reid was arrested at a Stevens Road residence after being accused of strangulation and domestic violence, officers noted. The incident reportedly occured on March 29 on Seaman Avenue, according to Akron Municipal Court records.
When officers arrived at the residence at about 12:30 p.m., Reid reportedly barricaded himself inside the home. He was later taken into custody without incident.
He is currently being held at the Summit County Jail.
