Hunt County Democrats
Hunt County Democrats will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 4 at the UAW Hall in Greenville, which is at 601 W. Jack Finney Blvd. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and all are welcome. Please bring a food item or hygiene item to the meeting to donate to the Quinlan Food Pantry.
Gun Show
The Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum presents a weekend gun show on Saturday, Sept. 6 and Sunday Sept. 7 at Fletcher Warren Civic Center. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A weekend pass will cost $10 for adults and free for children younger than 12 when accompanied by an adult.
Cotton Patch Challenge
The annual Cotton Patch Challenge bike ride is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20. Boasting eight different routes that range from six-to-21-mile “leisure” routes to advanced 76- and 100-mile treks, the Cotton Patch Challenge’s “road rally” routes will start at 7:30 a.m. by the courthouse, with check-in starting at 6 a.m. in front of the Landon Winery. Celebrate Labor Day Island Style
Greenville Parks & Rec hosts a Labor Day Luau at Ja-Lu Community Park on Monday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to noon and at Graham Park from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy free snow cones, fun in the splash pads and tropical vibes – your last chance before the splash pads close for the season.
Lee Street Jamboree
The Lee Street Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20 in downtown Greenville The event is free and runs from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with live music kicking off at 8 p.m .
Lions Reserve
East Texas A&M is hosting the inaugural Lions Reserve wine tasting fundraiser on Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Rayburn Student Center at 7 p.m. and will feature regional wineries, live music and a chance to connect with fellow supporters of the university’s mission. ‘A Meal to Remember’

Greenville Citizens Police Academy
The next Greenville Citizens Police Academy kicks off Monday, Sept. 8. The Hunt County Senior Service Alliance, in partnership with the W. Walworth Harrison Public Library, is seeking vendors for its fifth Annual Senior Citizen Fall Resource Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library and will feature door prizes, live entertainment and a free lunch provided by The Dawg House.
