The Greater Milwaukee Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is to be praised for their public stand against current assaults on the many immigrants in our midst, and for their defending religious liberty as ICE raids continue in Wisconsin (“Lutheran group sues over ICE policy,” July 30).
As a Catholic priest, I praise Lutheran Bishop Paul Erickson for his leadership. As he said, “Silence in the face of such oppression is simply not an option.”
All people of faith should peacefully rise up against an administration that is incredibly hard-hearted and, dare I say, evil.
