Grandview’s favorite eagle nest is active as ever.
Located near 994 Dublin Road and facing south across the Scioto River, bald eagles Athena and Apollo’s nest has garnered recent buzz after an eaglet — who many online are calling “Star” — was spotted earlier this month.
Now, avid eagle onlookers are reporting that baby Star can stand after being spotted walking around the nest.
Mike Abito, a Brewery District resident and Ohio State economics professor who visits the Grandview nest nearly every day, told The Dispatch in an email that the community isn’t yet sure whether Star is a male or female, but the eaglet can often be seen in the nest with Athena.
Meanwhile, Abito said Apollo is often on “his favorite perch,” fending off blue jays.
