Hundreds of “Rage Against the Regime” protests will take place Aug. 2 across the U.S., hosted by organizers of the 50501 Movement targeting President Donald Trump and his administration.

Dubbed a “National Day of Action,” events on Aug. 2, held via peaceful protests or through community events, take issue at Trump’s purported actions they claim have led to the construction of concentration camps, the “cover up” of the Jeffrey Epstein files, the revocation of access to medical care for Americans, the “kidnapping” of neighbors via U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and more.

Here’s everything to know about the Aug. 2 protests and where they are being held in New Jersey.

Are there Aug 2 protests?

Yes. The 50501 Movement has organized a National Day of Action against President Donald Trump’s administration on Aug. 2, 2025. As of July 28, there were 354 protests being held on Saturday, organized by local groups such as 50501, Indivisible, and more.

What is ‘Rage Against the Regime’?

“Rage Against the Regime” is the name of the Aug. 2, 2025 protests organized by the 50501 Movement that will take place across the U.S. The non-profit has called for mass mobilization for protesters to “channel our collective rage against the Trump regime,” according to the initiative.

Aug. 2 protest: Alligator Alcatraz, Epstein files among issues

The 50501 Movement’s “Rage Against the Regime” protests on Aug. 2 are taking aim at several actions by the Trump administration, such as the handling of the Jeffery Epstein files.

The protest urges non-violence, with 50501 protesting the following issues, all they claim have occurred at the hands of Trump:

  • The alleged weaponization of ICE against communities

  • The alleged cover up of the Jeffrey Epstein files

  • Purported attacks on transgender rights

  • The purported dismantling of Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), USAID, the Department of Education, NOAA and the National Weather Service

What is 50501 Movement?

The 50501 Movement is a grassroots initiative that was born on the social platform Reddit and under the hashtag #50501 in the early days of Trump’s second inauguration. It stands for 50 protests in 50 states on 1 day, which has since evolved to 50 states, 50 protests, 1 movement. They organized May Day Strong protests and have been involved in several other protests since June, including “No Kings,” “Good Trouble Lives On” and “Free America.”

There are hundreds of “Rage Against the Regime” protests being held on Aug. 2, 2025 across the U.S. Events range from peaceful protest to community events. Here are the events held in New Jersey that are registered as of July 28:

  • Trenton: State House Annex, 6 to 8 p.m. (Hosted by 50501 Movement: New Jersey)

  • Pine Hill: 500 West Branch Ave. (Across from Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia), noon to 3 p.m.

  • Cape May: Cape May Courthouse, 1 to 3 p.m. (Hosted by Cape May County United)

Are there any Aug 2 protests in NYC?

While a “Rage Against the Regime” protest is not taking place Aug. 2, as of July 28, there are events in North Lindenhurst, located on the South Shore of Long Island, and over the New Jersey-New York State border in Mamaroneck and Nanuet.

Are there any Aug 2 protests in Philadelphia?

There do not appear to be any “Rage Against the Regime” protests on Aug. 2 in Philadelphia; however, there are protests at the Springfield Mall in Springfield Township and further west in Phoenixville.
