One man was hospitalized in critical condition and another was jailed on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting over the weekend in Barstow, law enforcement officials said.
The gunfire took place about 3 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 700 block of South 1st Avenue, Barstow Police Department officials said.
“Officers quickly responded and located a 62-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” according to a police statement. “The victim was airlifted to a local trauma center due to the severity of his injuries.”

The victim was listed in “critical but stable” condition, police said.
Witnesses relayed that the shooter had fled the area in a silver sedan, and investigators soon managed to identify the suspect as Zachary Scott Koger, 36, of Barstow, according to police and San Bernardino County booking records. He was already on active parole due to a prior felony conviction.
He was found and taken into custody without a struggle about 8 a.m. in the area of Serrano Avenue and Lenwood Road.
Koger was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and violating the terms of his parole, records show.
He was being held without bail pending legal proceedings.
A motive in the shooting was not available.
