At around 7:48 p.m. on Monday, police were notified of “an unknown incident, possible domestic violence incident” at 82 Glenville Ave., Boston police said in a previous statement. Officers found a person dead at that address and requested other units to help in finding the suspect.
The person was a woman “who had a familial relationship with Riaz,” Assistant District Attorney Julie Higgins said in Hayden’s statement. The woman “sustained significant trauma to her head, likely caused by a baseball bat and/or sword,” Higgins added.
Riaz was found and arrested near 50 Quint Ave. following an attempted carjacking incident, police said.
