Boy, 16, is the 2nd to be charged in June 14 Millville murder. Here’s the latest.

A juvenile has been charged in connection with a June 14 slaying in Millville.

The 16-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, is accused of the murder of 20-year-old Roshaud Rhett of Millville, the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office said.

A 19-year-old Bridgeton man, Trasuf J. Bennett, was also charged with Rhett’s murder.

Both suspects are accused of weapons offenses. The juvenile faces an additional charge of conspiracy to murder.

Bennett allegedly shot Rhett from inside a car that pulled up on the 300 block of Maurice Street at approximately 11:50 a.m., the prosecutor’s office said.

A 19-year-old Millville man, James Henry, is accused of shooting back at the car. He is charged with weapons offenses.

Bennett and a 16-year-old fled the scene, but were taken into custody in Trenton on the night of June 19, the prosecutor’s office said.

Henry, also a fugitive, was arrested the morning of June 23 in Millville.

The charges against all of the suspects are only allegations. No one has been convicted in the case.
