Cherokee County Sheriff Jason Chennault said a woman was shot by deputies during a disturbance early Saturday morning.

Around midnight, deputies were dispatched to the Shady Grove area to reports of a woman who reportedly shot into a residence from inside a vehicle. The woman fled the scene and a pursuit ensued.

“She rammed one of our vehicles several times,” Chennault said. “She eventually stopped at the Lost City four-way. Two males ran on foot and a deputy shot the female.”

The men were eventually caught — one by a CCSO K-9 deputy. The woman was transported by EMS to a Tulsa hospital and is in ICU.

“One male was transported by EMS and treated for bites, the other male was taken to jail,” Chennault said.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating and will send their report to District 27 District Attorney Jack Thorp.
