Authorities caught a Brockton man who’d been on the run for two months after allegedly shooting a Fall River woman in the chest last summer during a house party gunfight, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Massachusetts announced in a prepared statement.
After a two-month search, officials arrested Romeo Miller, 26, of Brockton, in Taunton Thursday on federal charges of being a felon in possession of ammunition. A grand jury originally indicted Miller in February along with three other Brockton men in connection to a June 2024 shooting at a Falconer Avenue house party, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Miller pleaded not guilty Thursday to a federal charge of illegal possession of ammunition by a felon. Miller’s attorney, Daniel J. Cloherty, had no comment Friday when reached by phone.
Miller was ordered held pending a hearing scheduled for May 5. The three other people arrested in connection to the shootout, Natalio Miranda, 33, Jonathan Alves, 28 and Jahleil Monteiro, 25, remain in custody.

On June 2, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired outside 31 Falconer Ave., according to police.
Upon arrival, officers said they observed a large crowd outside the home and a female victim, later identified as a 31-year-old from Fall River, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. She was taken to a hospital and survived, police said.
A federal agent working the case said the eventual victim fired the first shot.
Surveillance footage captures shootout
Video footage obtained from the home’s surveillance system showed that a house party at the residence led to a physical altercation in the driveway, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the footage showed Miranda, who was charged with one count each of possession of a machinegun and being a felon in possession of ammunition, discharge several bursts of ammunition in the front yard of the residence before leaving the scene.

Miller and Alves, also charged with one count of being a felon in possession of ammunition, can allegedly be seen firing towards the victim, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Miller can also allegedly be seen crossing the street to hide behind a parked car before shooting the victim in the chest. He then returned to the driveway where he allegedly passed his firearm off to Monteiro, who is charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact, before the two drove away in separate cars, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
What punishment could Miller face?
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the charges of being a felon in possession of ammunition provide for a sentence of up to 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.
