Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting that left one dead, one injured

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured another.

According to a post on the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, deputies responded to a call about a shooting on Etheridge Road in Longwood. Upon arrival, deputies located a male in the yard of a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies also found a second male with a gunshot wound, and he was transported to a medical facility for treatment, the post stated.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as 20-year-old Jeremhiah Aldrey Gore.

“Preliminary investigation indicates the shots were fired from a vehicle driving by,” the post stated. “At this time, the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no known threat to the public.”

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has asked anyone who may have information related to the case to contact them at 910-253-2777 or call 911.
