The next opportunity to buy tickets for Burning Man is the Tomorrow Sale on April 30.
While Burning Man didn’t sell out in 2024, organizers said the first round of sales outpaced previous years’.
The annual festival in the Nevada desert 120 miles northeast of Reno runs Aug. 24 to Sept. 1. This year’s theme is “Tomorrow Today.”
Last year’s Burning Man was slower, if 70,000 people in a pop-up city in the Black Rock Desert can be considered slow. It was the first time since 2011 Burning Man didn’t sell out. The festival had battled muddy conditions in 2023 and canceled the gathering in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.
This year could be shaping up differently, with Burning Man revamping its tickets process and offering a range of prices, hoping people who have the means pay more to make up for budget shortfalls last year.
Burning Man did not answer a request from the RGJ about how many tickets have been sold to date, but the event is usually capped at 80,000 people in accordance with its U.S. Bureau of Land Management permit.
