Students in at least one New Jersey school district are facing transportation challenges after a bus company announced it wouldn’t be providing its service at all on Tuesday, according to officials.
The Neptune Township School District said the Seman-Tov Bus Company would not run its routes across the area on Tuesday for either morning or afternoon routes. The company also did not send buses to the district on Monday afternoon, Superintendent Tami Crader said in a notice to parents.
“We will work diligently to arrange alternative transportation for Wednesday and will keep you informed,” Crader said. “Please plan to transport your child(ren) tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience this has created for our families.”
The reason for the service stoppage remained unclear Tuesday, including whether other districts using Seman-Tov buses were affected.
NJ Advance Media contacted district officials and the bus company on Tuesday, but neither immediately returned responses to questions.
