Aug. 29—A meowing cat was reportedly stuck inside a vehicle. After fruitless attempts to free it using a drill, someone called the Kalispell Police Department, requesting a tow truck to lift the vehicle to try rescuing it again. When no one was able to remove the cat, the car owner planned to take the car to the dealership and have mechanics free it.
A man reportedly drinking from a beer can in a backpack screamed, “‘F’ Montana,” and picked something up, throwing it at his neighbors.
Someone followed up with officers, expressing worry about a dog that reportedly showed multiple signs of abuse during a veterinary visit, wanting an update.
A man with a short fuse driving a dark-colored pickup with Washington license plates reportedly pulled up to someone test driving a bicycle and got out of the vehicle and in their face, screaming and “cussing out” the rider.
A man driving a black GMC Yukon allegedly sped through a red light, almost hitting a man on U.S. 93 South and parked by a hotel casino.
Officers responded to someone’s public safety concern that a person who had been drinking was about to drive a black SUV with a 30-foot-trailer attached. When officers arrived, the parked vehicle was running and the only occupant was a passenger sitting in the rear while other people were standing outside, all appeared to have been drinking and told officers they were en route to Las Vegas and the border. They reportedly agreed to get a hotel room for the night.
Someone called police with a noise complaint, alleging that people driving a go-kart on the grass around a park were being “super loud.” A responding officer observed a kid riding a minibike on the ball field and through the grass, which didn’t appear to be damaged. The officer informed the kid’s family that the minibike and a “toy motorized truck” were not allowed to be driven inside the park. Additionally, the family was advised about leash laws pertaining to their dog.
A resident’s security cameras allegedly “caught” a man wearing a headlamp riding an orange “trike scooter” up their driveway where he looked around and in the cars before heading eastbound toward Main Street
A concerned parent called the police when she wasn’t able to reach her daughter for a couple of days and she wasn’t at the hospital. Officers were able to speak to the woman through her locked apartment door. She reportedly had been lying on the bathroom floor all day after falling.
