Celebrate the 4th of July with these Lower Hudson Valley, NYC fireworks displays

Independence Day and fireworks seem to go hand-in-hand like baseball and hot dogs: You can’t have one without the other.

Fourth of July falls on Friday, July 4. Check out some of the Lower Hudson Valley fireworks displays happening on or after July 4 in honor of the holiday.

Firework displays in the Lower Hudson Valley scheduled before July 4

Pomona: The New York Boulders baseball team will on July 3 as well as July 4 have postgame fireworks as part of their Independence Day celebration.

Pound Ridge: The town will have its annual fireworks celebration starting 4:30 p.m. June 28 with food and live music at Pound Ridge Town Park, 199 Westchester Ave. As before, parking will be available at Pound Ridge Elementary School, with shuttle buses running between the school and the park. (Parking permits are required for those who wish to park at the school.)

Somers: The annual 4th of July Celebration will begin 5 p.m. July 3, at Reis Park, Route 139 (Primrose Street.)

Valhalla: The annual Music Fest and Fireworks event at Kensico Dam Plaza, 1 Bronx River Parkway, will begin 5 p.m. July 3 with pre-concert entertainment. A guest DJ will be followed by the Naked Soul Band at 7 p.m. The fireworks, with the historic dam as the backdrop, will follow at about 9 p.m.

White Plains: An Independence Day celebration will be held starting 6:30 p.m. July 2 at White Plains High School, 550 North Street. Entertainment, inflatable rides, food and fireworks are scheduled.

Admission and parking are free, although carpooling or taking mass transit is recommended. Parking at either the North White Plains or Valhalla train stations is also recommended. Concertgoers should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating and a picnic if desired.

Katonah: The Westchester Symphonic Winds, joined by soprano Carami Hilaire, will perform at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, 149 Girdle Ridge Road, starting 8 p.m. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display.

In the event of rain, the concert will still be held July 4 but the fireworks display will take place 9 p.m. July 5.

Mamaroneck: As part of the 10-day Firemans Carnival held at Harbor Island Park, fireworks will be held at dusk (about 9:15 p.m.) July 4 with a rain date of July 5.

New Rochelle: Spark the Sound: July 4th Fireworks will be held starting 9:30 p.m. at Davenport Park on Davenport Avenue.

Nyack: Independence Day fireworks will be held at Memorial Park, 51 Piermont Ave. Festivities begin 6 p.m. with the fireworks show starting at dusk. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged, and there will be food vendors and music.

Peekskill: As part of the city’s 2025 Summer Concert Series, the July 4 concert, “Ladies of the ’80s,” will be followed by fireworks. All concerts are free, run between 7 and 9 p.m., and are at the Peekskill riverfront.

Rye: Barley Beach House, 95 Dearborn Ave., will starting 6 p.m. have a July 4th Beach Party. Bring a blanket or chair. Food and entertainment will be part of the evening, including Hawaiian dance and fire shows. Fireworks will start between 9 and 9:15 p.m.

Brewster: A Southeast Fireworks Extravaganza is scheduled starting 6 p.m. July 6, Independent Way.

Kent: An Independence Day Fireworks Celebration will be held starting at dusk (about 8 p.m.) July 5, over Lake Carmel. Rain date is July 6.

Firework displays in New York City

Starting 8 p.m. July 4 Macy’s will have their annual fireworks show, now in its 49th year. The show is free to attend, but viewing locations, entry points, and security details are still forthcoming.

For those who would rather view the display at home, the fireworks will be shown on NBC as well as Peacock.
