An error by the @grok artificial intelligence account on X, former Twitter, sparked controversy for CentraCare.

The account falsely announced a connection between a doctor the St. Cloud-based health care organization and Vance Boelter, who is the alleged suspect accused of killing Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband and shooting state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.

CentraCare announced that Dr. Jennifer Boelter is not connected with the shooting suspect.

“As a healthcare provider committed to transparency and factual accuracy, CentraCare urges the public and the media to refrain from spreading misinformation that can damage reputations and cause undue stress,” CentraCare wrote in a statement.
