Chance of showers, rip currents early this week

Must read

A line of severe thunderstorms is shifting into the Ohio Valley on Monday and is expected to persist throughout the week, according to the latest AccuWeather reports.

There is a chance for some of those storms to sweep across the Florida Panhandle, bringing some showers and rip currents on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The Pensacola area will see clearer weather toward the weekend, with highs reaching the mid-80s by Sunday and lows hovering around the upper 60s.

Pensacola weather forecast: Expect possible showers, patchy fog and warm temps

An upper trough moving northeast will set the tone of this week’s weather forecast.

An associated cold front is expected to move into the area and then stall, effectively splitting the area’s rain chances with the northeastern parts expected to have a higher chance of being impacted by the possible storms, according to the National Weather Service.

High pressure over the southwest Atlantic and Northeast Gulf will keep rain chances low in the Pensacola area.

Another disturbance will bring a second chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, but the Pensacola area will see a lower chance of impact.

Patches of fog should be expected at night.
