CUMBERLAND — A driver who allegedly struck a pedestrian in late February in the area of Seton Drive and Bishop Walsh Road and then drove away was arrested Thursday by Cumberland Police and C3I detectives.

Michael Joseph Wempe, 36, was charged with obstruction of justice, two counts of providing false information to police and more than a dozen hit-and-run related charges. He was granted pre-trial release after posting $10,000 bond set by a district court commissioner.

The Feb. 27 incident occurred just before 3 p.m., police said.

The victim was treated at the scene by Cumberland Fire Department ambulance personnel before being taken to UPMC Western Maryland for further treatment.
