Clifton man killed in early Saturday morning shooting in Paterson

PATERSON — An unidentified 55-year-old Clifton man died from gunshot wounds sustained in the area of 19th Avenue and East 42nd Street at about 3:35 a.m. Saturday, May 17.

Members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a report of a shooting and located the victim with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a statement from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and Paterson Police Department.

The victim was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available, police said.
