A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly selling marijuana vape pens to minors in the Coachella Valley, authorities announced Friday.
Rodolfo Rodrigo Guillen was arrested Thursday when personnel from the Indian Wells and Palm Desert Special Enforcement Teams, the Business District Team, the Regional Gang Task Force and the Coachella Valley Regional Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at Guillen’s residence in the 84000 block of Avenida Florabunda in Coachella, according to the sheriff’s department.
He was booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio on Thursday on suspicion of transporting and selling a controlled substance to minors and unlawfully selling or offering cannabis to minors.
Guillen’s bail was set at $100,000.
Sheriff’s officials said deputies from the Palm Desert Station and School Resource deputies have been seeing an increase in marijuana vape pens among juvenile students in Palm Desert since December.
