Police have arrested a man accused of shooting a woman for confronting him after he broke into vehicles.

Police arrested Javir Samuel Green-Turner, 20, on a charge of felonious assault on July 16. As of July 17, Green-Turner remained in the Franklin County Jail.

Columbus police responded to the shooting just after 5 a.m. July 11. A woman saw Green-Turner breaking into cars near the Mayfair Apartments on Columbus’ East Side, police said.

The woman and her adult daughter drove after Green-Turner to the intersection of Elbern Avenue and South Ashburton Road, where she confronted him, police said.

Green-Turner fired five shots at the woman, striking her in the neck, according to court records. Police said he fled on a bike.

The woman was taken to Grant Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Her condition wasn’t known as of July 17.
