THURSDAY, April 17

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: The Scioto County Commissioners will meet in regular session at 9:30 a.m., on the third floor of the Scioto County Courthouse, 602 Seventh St., Portsmouth. The commissioners meeting is also livestreamed on their Facebook page.

PORTSMOUTH SCHOOL BOARD: The Portsmouth Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. at the board offices, 724 Findlay St., Portsmouth.

7 NATIONS: The 7 Nations Celtic Club will meet at 5 p.m. at Port City Pub, 424 Chillicothe St., Portsmouth.

SCIOTO DEMOCRATS: The Scioto County Democratic Party will have a social hour from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ollie’s Burgers & BBW, 1619 Chillicothe St., Portsmouth.

NEW BOSTON COUNCIL: New Boston Village Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the village offices building on Rhodes Avenue.

CLAY SCHOOL BOARD: The Clay Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. at Clay schools.

GREEN TRUSTEES: The Green Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center in Franklin Furnace.

EDGEWOOD EGG HUNT: 1 p.m.: Edgewood Manor of Lucasville presents this hunt at Northwest High School, 914 Mohawk Drive, Lucasville; treats, prizes and a visit with the Easter bunny.

PORTER TOWNSHIP EGG HUNT: 1 p.m.: Third Annual Egg Hunt at Porter Township Park, 7835 Ohio River Road, Wheelersburg; Southern Ohio Healthcare Alliance. sponsors this event, which offers an egg hunt, games and prizes with a special visit from the Easter bunny.

GOOD FRIDAY WORSHIP NIGHT: Central Church Portsmouth, 1211 Grandview Ave., Portsmouth, is having a Good Friday evening worship at 6 p.m.

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE: Welcome Home Christian Fellowship, 7 Valley Lane, Lucasville, presents a Good Friday service starting at 6:30 p.m.

LLOYD CHURCH EGG HUNT: 5 p.m.: Lloyd Church of the Nazarene, 157 Ohio River Road, Lloyd; egg hunt will be followed by a Good Friday service at 7 p.m.

NEW BOSTON EGG HUNT: Noon, Cedar Street Church presents a community egg hunt at Millbrook Park, New Boston.

PURSE BINGO: Support Miss Wheelersburg in her River Days journey with designer purse bingo. $20. Concessions will be available for purchase. The fun begins at 5 p.m. at Wheelersburg High School, 800 Pirate Drive, Wheelersburg.

RUSH TRUSTEES: The Rush Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at 75 Barker St., McDermott.

TUESDAY, April 22

DOCUMENTARY SCREENING: The Iron Men: Portsmouth, Ohio’s NFL Legacy will be screened at Shawnee State University’s Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, 940 Second St., Portsmouth, at 6 p.m. The film explores the impact of the Portsmouth Spartans, a professional football franchise in the early 20th century that later moved and became the Detroit Lions. This screening and an accompanying Q&A are both free.

WEDNESDAY, April 23

KIWANIS PANCAKE DAY: The Kiwanis Club of Portsmouth’s annual pancake day fundraiser will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of Portsmouth, 808 Offnere St., Portsmouth. Tickets are $8 each for all-you-can-eat pancakes. This event is sponsored by UK King’s Daughters Medical Center. Buy tickets from any Kiwanis member or at the door.

PORTSMOUTH TODAY: This quarterly breakfast event offers an update on local community and government projects to improve life in the greater Portsmouth area.
