Our first heat wave of the year has begun and it’s setting up to be a brutal & dangerous one through Wednesday. An EXTREME HEAT WARNING (which does not happen often) is up for most of the state & some Heat Advisories as well! The shoreline could have heat indices from 100° to 105° & inland areas could feel 105° to 110°. Please be careful, hydrate, watch & hydrate your pets and especially check on the elderly! Heat Waves are the #1 killer across the nation every year! Take advantage of the cooling centers around Connecticut! Not as hot Thursday through the weekend with an increased threat for showers & storms.

Early this morning: Mostly clear, very warm and humid. Lows in the low to mid 70s.

Today: Hazy sunshine, dangerous heat & very high humidity. Highs in the low to upper 90s with the heat index (what it feels like) 100°-110. A bit cooler at the SE Connecticut shoreline.

Tonight: Mainly clear, humid & very warm. Lows in the 70s.

Tomorrow: Hazy, hot, and humid. Highs in the upper 90s to 100 degrees inland. Heat indices 100-110 degrees. A bit cooler at the SE Connecticut shoreline.

Wednesday: Another hot and humid day with highs 90 to 95. Heat index near 100 degrees. A late thunderstorm is possible in a few spots.

Thursday: Partly sunny with some scattered afternoon showers & thunderstorms. Highs in the 80s.

Friday: Cooler and partly sunny with another round of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 75- 80.

Saturday: Cloudy with scattered showers. Highs in the mid to upper 70s

Sunday: Clouds and sun with highs in the low 80s.
