Dangerously high temperatures across Central Florida as heat wave continues

Central Florida is under an extreme heat warning and advisory from noon until 7 p.m.

The warning covers Greater Orlando, including Kissimmee, Leesburg, Kenansville and Daytona Beach, according to NWS Melbourne.

Areas with extreme heat have temperatures ranging from 95 to 100 degrees, with a heat index ranging from 112 to 115 degrees.

Other parts of Central Florida are under a heat advisory, including Brevard, Okeechobee, Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin County.

Those areas are under advisory, with temps ranging from 93 to 99 degrees and a heat index ranging from 108 to 112 degrees.

Abnormally hot and humid conditions will continue throughout the week, according to NWS Melbourne.

Rain chances are below 30 percent around Greater Orlando and 10-20 percent along the coast.

Leeburg has the highest rain chances at 40 percent.
