Danville man arrested after domestic disturbance

On Thursday morning, just after 11 a.m., Danville Police Department responded to 1000 block of W. Columbia for a domestic disturbance with injuries.

Upon arrival, members of the patrol division located the victim outside of the residence with a laceration on their face. The victim reported the suspect was still inside the residence with another family member.

The suspect was identified as Timothy Lukas of Danville. Officers surrounded the residence as Lukas refused to exit.

A Danville Police Department crisis negotiator responded to the scene and successfully contacted Lukas via telephone. After speaking with Lukas for several minutes, Lukas agreed to let members of the department inside to check the status of the other family member that remained in the residence.

While inside, Lukas was taken into custody and transported to the Vermilion County Jail on preliminary charges of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery – deadly weapon, and unlawful use of a weapon.

The Danville Police Department reminds the public that subjects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
